Silverdome Sale – Amazing

I thought this was pretty stunning. The Silverdome sells for a paltry $583K at auction. This after it almost sold for $20 million a year ago, and taxpayers spent $55.7 million building the thing.

I am not from the area, and have no idea what the broader implications are, other than the US economy is pretty much, well, in the toilet.

An interesting twist is that the company who was going to buy it for $20 million is reportedly now trying to block the sale. Well, we’ll see.

Depression

Lately I find myself suffering with depression moreso than usual. I’ve been slowly tapering off of Effexor for like a year and a half now, and I think my dose is so low now that I doubt it has any therapeutic benefit at all.

Not sure what the solution is, since I don’t ever want to be on any psychiatric medication again. Maybe once I am completely off of Effexor for a period of time, the brain will adjust and I will have a better outlook. I sure hope so.

Dreaded First Post

Well, I’m not sure what to say. Hey, that’s not a good sign for your post, hehe. This blog won’t really have a theme I guess. I have no real plan for it. I’ll just post whatever I feel like, and see where it goes and what happens.

Not really sure if I like the look of the template, but it will do for now.

One of the things I’d like to accomplish with this blog is to get better at writing. There is a lot of writing involved in my work, and I’ve always resisted it. But I find that the more I write, the easier it is. So maybe blogging will help me to let go of that resistance, and perhaps actually embrace it.
